Our Chapter
Slow Food Buffalo Niagara is a chapter of Slow Food USA and shares its belief that everyone has the right to good, clean and fair food. Slow Food USA advocates for food and farming policies that are good for the public, good for our planet and good for farmers and workers.
Our Mission
The mission of Slow Food Buffalo Niagara is to address three main avenues: Education, Diversity and Connections. Because there are already initiatives within the region with the aim of providing access to everyone, educating the community about the importance of Slow Food’s concepts, and linking farmers with consumers, our goal is to be the missing link amongst these varying organizations. While all of the components are near and dear to the heart of Slow Food USA, it is not our goal to reinvent the wheel, but to spread awareness about the “slow life”; and most importantly make it easy. Slow Food USA has a recognizable presence and symbolism that we hope to use to create a large Slow community, while recognizing that the community is diverse with many sectors with differing needs, interests and wants.
